Stonehaven Success at OBS April
We haven't tried our luck in the 2YO market more than a handful of times. Ideally we sell at the Keeneland September Sale when our stock are yearlings, however Laila's Punch '15 was a special kind of filly. She looked fast, by a modest sire in Discreet Cat and, post catalog, her full sister Colorful Charades went on to break her maiden in Saratoga, consequently pointed at the G1 Frizette Stakes in New York. A handy sized May foal by Discreet Cat in book 5, her value was set

It's Yearling Season!
Its that time again, for some it has been that time for over a month now. With the Fasig Tipton July yearling sale around the corner and Saratoga August shortly after, those forward some would say above average yearlings have been under sales preparation for a while now. Not necessarily as a rule, but for a boutique farm like Stonehaven we find shooting for the September sale at Keeneland ideal for our operation. While we have yearlings by top sires like Tapit and Medaglia d

Foaling and Breeding Season 2015
We had quite an eventful foaling season here at Stonehaven topped by a beautiful Tapit colt (photo by Linzay Marks) out of champion producer Steelin', dam of Shanghai Bobby. With almost 20 foals on the ground, for our boutique farm it's our largest crop yet. Steelin' is currently in foal to Medaglia d 'Oro, the top commercial sire. With sires like Pioneer of the Nile, More than Ready, Medaglia d Oro, and Tapit we are very pleased with this new group of foals and 2015 matin

Stonehaven in the New Year
It's cold outside here in the Bluegrass, nearing the end of the January sale...and beginning of foaling season. Happy belated birthday to all the thoroughbreds out there! Our group of yearlings are growing nicely and we are anticipating an exciting September sale. With almost 20 yearlings and another almost 20 on their way Stonehaven's quality and numbers are on the rise. Book 1 comes to a close...as book 3 ships in!
It's been quite a busy week at the Keeneland September Sale, the energy is high and the prices are even higher! The investing market is holding strong in the $200,000-$400,000 range. At least that was the case with our Hip #379, a Malibu Moon colt out of Wasted Tears. It seemed as though Casse was holding strong but the hammer fell to David Ingordo of Lanes End, and we couldn't more excited to see him head to their first class operation! Two others in Book 1, #45 and #50 sold
