Entering this 2016 breeding season we are pleased to have invested in 3 new mares at the recent breeding stock sales in Kentucky. After losing one of our long time mares, multiple stakes winner, Laila's Punch we are excited to have purchased mares who not only have a good family but also had some great race in them!
Easy Living, a 5 year old maiden foaled in NY was our first purchase at the November Keeneland Breeding Stock sale. With earnings of over $150,000 she's stakes placed at Belmont Park and a half sister to Jaramar (G3P,) dam of 3 black type winners, one being Harbor Mist, a stakes winner at Saratoga. While a runner with quite a bit of grit, she's also a pretty
and tall mare, we look forward to her fist foal! She was campaigned by Cheyenne Stables. She's currently set to visit Darley's Hard Spun this 2016 breeding season.
Scooter Bird is a 6 year old maiden, stakes placed at Delmar, a winner of over $200,000. Bought out of the Lane's End consignment at the Keeneland November sale, this big, pretty bay has been retired from racing by Hronis Racing and we are happy to have her! She is booked into Winstar's Constitution, a great looking stallion with lots of potential.
More recently is I Have a Price (Successful Appeal), a 5 yr old maiden. Shes half to G1 placed Indulgence (Macho Uno) and G3 placed Can't Happen Here (Desert Party.) Indulgence has a 2YO Bernardini gearing up for a start soon and in her 2nd Dam (Rabiadella) is our very own Love and Marry, dam of 2 black type horses, one being Riveting Reason (Fusaichi Pegasus,) who is G2 placed. We love this mare and are excited to have more of the family. We haven't picked her first mate at this time. But with a great deal of sires in the ideal price range tearing it up on the track, there's a good deal of potential.
If you are intersted in owning a thoroughbred or a piece of a thoroughbred, whether it be racing or breeding to race or sell, please don't hesitate to contact us with any questions!
We look forward to these new additions of our broadmare band! With about 20 mares there's sure some foaling news to come...
